Bjork, Wallace 'Wally'

Blauvelt, NY - Tappan Location

On May 17, 2019, the Heavens opened and accepted another Angel.  Wallace “Wally” Bjork, 87, of Blauvelt, NY passed calmly and peacefully surrounded by his family.

He was predeceased by his wife Margaret “Peggy”, his son David, his parents Edward and Margaret (Kerrigan), his brothers Roy and Alfred. He is survived by his son Willy and his wife Judy, his daughter Liz (Canara) and her husband Mike, his daughter Bernadette (Dimino) and her husband Steve and his grandchildren Stephanie (Mak), Ashley, Austin, Chelsea, Julianne, John, Jillian (Bautista) and Brian.

He was born in the Bronx and raised in St Agatha’s in Nanuet and St. Agnes in Sparkill.  At the age of 16 he left St. Agnes to begin his 41 year career working as a carpenter in NYC.  He was a lifelong member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenter’s Local Union 488 in the Bronx. During these years he served as both a skilled tradesman and a Union Official.
Wally was an exceptional person whose kindness and compassion left an impact on anyone he met. He lifted your spirits and could always put a smile on your face.  He was a generous man who was committed to the charities that made an impact on his life.

We will be forever thankful for the compassionate staff at Sunrise Assisted Living in Old Tappan, NJ and Valley Hospice for the wonderful care our Dad received.

Visitation will be at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan on Wednesday May 22nd, from 2-4 and 7-9pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Catharine’s Church in Blauvelt on Thursday, May 23rd at 11am.
