Lifelong resident of the Bronx, Michael Dellacava - a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, December 8th. He was 86 years old. Michael was the son of Domenick and Anna Dellacava, born on September 2, 1935. After graduating from Alfred E. Smith High School, in the Bronx, Michael patriotically enlisted in the US Navy. While serving in the military, his career in Engineering began in the engine rooms of the various demolition destroyer ships he served on. At the age of 23, he met and fell in love with a young woman by the name of Ann Bevona. After dating for two years, Michael and Ann were married on September 25th, 1960 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in the Bronx. Michael continued to live and raise his family in his beloved Belmont community where they both grew up. Throughout his career, Michael had many engineering positions; Con Edison, New York Hospital to Chief Engineer at Bronx Community College and Fordham University. He ended his career as a Custodial Engineer for the NYC Board of Education. Michael always worked hard to love and support his family especially his beloved wife, Ann, who he was married to for 60 beautiful years!

Michael is survived by his sons John (Kathy), Joseph (Tammy), and James (Maria), his grandchildren Victoria, Michael, Olivia, Julia, and Nicholas, and many beloved relatives and close friends. He will be greatly missed by all!

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 18th, 10am at St. Catharine’s Church in Blauvelt. Entombment to follow at Saint Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 17th, 2-6pm at the Moritz Funeral Funeral in Tappan.
