Vasgen ‘Harry’ Poloshjian, a resident of Tappan, NY passed away peacefully on October 6, 2018 at the Armenian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Emerson, NJ. Harry was born in Manhattan on August 5, 1935 to Harabed and Rose Poloshjian. At the time Harry was born his father died unexpectedly. Harry was raised by his mother and paternal grandparents. By the age of 10, Harry was publishing his own neighborhood newspaper. After the death of mother and grandparents, he was drafted into the US Army and was sent to Germany after basic training. Harry served in the Judge Advocate Division before being honorably discharged. When he returned home, he worked at the New York Times. After the New York Times, he wrote for Charles Osgood at CBS. Harry is survived by many cousins, friends and relatives. Visiting hours will be Sunday, 2-7pm at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Armenian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 70 Main St. Emerson, NJ 07630.
