Frank Ficarra went home peacefully to his Lord on November 27, 2018. He was born in the Bronx, NY on February 4, 1929 to John and Venera Ficarra. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was married for 58 years to Mary Ann, the love of his life. Frank enjoyed a successful career as an Insurance Broker with Fred S. James & Co. in New York. In his youth, Frank was an avid body builder who appeared in Iron Man magazine. He went to the gym several times a week well into his late 80’s earning the nickname “Pops” for his helpful bodybuilding advice. Frank served eight years in the New York State National Guard, and was an active member of the Piermont Senior Citizens and parishioner of St. Catharine’s Church and bible study group.

Family and friends were of paramount importance to Frank. He was extremely generous and would always greet you with a warm smile and a ready joke. He was a master storyteller who loved to make people laugh. In his retirement years, he became an avid baker and enjoyed life to its fullest.

He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ann, who passed away in 2013. Frank is survived by his children, Venera Ann Cocks, Benita Theresa, Toni Marie Rivera, John S. and Barbara; his grandchildren, Christopher, Diana, Danny, Melissa, George, Kolby, Kemper, Francis, Jennifer, and John Thomas; and his great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Jessica, Apollo, Leonardo and George (Robby).

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, 10am at St. Catharine’s Church in Blauvelt with burial to follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet. Visiting hours will be Thursday, 2-4 and 6-9pm at the Moritz Funeral in Tappan. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
