Audrey S. Novak, 99, a longtime resident of Tappan, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2021. She was born in West New York, NJ to Arthur and Ernestine Foerch. Before retiring in 1964, Audrey was an accountant for 25 years for the engineering firm Merritt-Chapman & Scott in Manhattan. She was a devout member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Old Tappan, NJ and a member of the Piermont and Norwood Senior Citizens Centers.

Audrey was predeceased by her husband, Joakim, who died in 2012. She is survived by her children, Denise Novak and her husband William Gentzler and John Novak and his wife Filomena; her grandchildren, Christopher (Alexandra), Nicholas (Stephanie), Lauren (Michael), Alex (Shanice); her great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Domenica, Michael, Nadia, Brooke, Harris and Karra; and her nieces, Carolyn Russo, Nannette Rosso and Audrey Alvarez. She was also predeceased by her sister Norma Kolbak.

A Funeral Service will be held, Friday, May 7th, 11am, at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 106 Orangeburgh Road, Old Tappan, NJ. Visiting hours will be Thursday, May 6th, 4-9pm at the Moritz Funeral Home, 98 Route 303, Tappan, NY. In lieu of flowers donations to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church ( or the Wounded Warriors Project ( would be greatly appreciated.
